Learning about Blog Brûlée…
I remember, back in my former blogging life (blogging at Be Truly Nourished), when we were just getting started… I checked out the successful & gorgeous food/nutrition blogs, one thing many of them had in common was this “Recipe Redux” badge. Obviously, after seeing these badges everywhere, I had to check it out. Researching and getting involved with The Recipe Redux introduced me to Blog Brûlée. There was a magical place where dietitian & healthy living bloggers get together, in a gorgeous New England spot, in the fall to learn, eat, and connect, all mostly sponsored by awesome companies! What?! After pinching myself, I realized this was in fact real life. Then and there I dreamed of the day I could attend this conference. This was just over 2 years ago, and looking back over the past 2+ years, and seeing how successful and wonderful the Blog Brûlée alums have been……….. I still pinch myself.
What I’m looking forward to at Blog Brûlée
Fast forward to today, I have quit my blog and ventured out on my own to start this nutrition business (again… pinching myself, and yes, my arm hurts now), I partly have Blog Brûlée to thank for this venture. If it weren’t for that commitment & attendance dreams coming into focus, I might not have started my own business right now. I decided to start building & open my practice within about 2 months. Which is kind of crazy. Thank you Blog Brûlée for setting fire to my butt to get me going on my new business and blog. And thank you,Blog Brûlée for giving me the opportunity to actually set fire to better my blog, now that it’s all thrown together!
I am so obsessed with Blog Brûlée because it’s an invitation only conference to provide education and professional development opportunities, as well as a forum for discussion and relationship building. It was started and is run today by 4 bad-a dietitians. Their creds are impressive, and their support for those of us just starting out is incredible. Regan Jones, Gretchen Brown, Deanna Segrave-Daly, and Robin Plotkin have all paved the way for dietitians on the web and have created unique platforms to inspire people eat better, AND to enjoy it. Not only am I humbled to finally be able to meet these wonderful entrepreneurs, I am so excited to learn from them & their knowledgable speakers.
Blog Brûlée Attendees
In addition to meeting the founders, and learning about how to grow and get paid for my services (wish that happened on my old blog!), I am beyond ecstatic to actually meet the 19 other dietitian & healthy food bloggers who have been invited to Vermont. I’ve been cyber friends with some of these ladies for years, and am so excited to meet these ladies whose content I’ve been reading and sharing for quite some time. Check out the blogs of my fellow attendees!
