Why it matters
Instagram is such a fun and inspirational tool. Or at least it can be. Unfortunately, so much of what we see on Instagram and think of as being inspirational, actually makes many people feel badly about themselves. We can feel badly about ourselves based on what we ingest through Instagram because what we see is only the ‘highlights’, we see this unhelpful all-or-nothing mentality to health habits, or we see fitness/eating at all costs-all this talk of ‘no excuses’ makes me crazy. We see transformations that make us feel like our value and worth lie in our ability to change our bodies, we see photoshopped and highly stylized photos and think that that’s normal.
