The Best Instagram Accounts that will Make you Feel Better about Yourself

The Best Instagram Accounts to Make You Feel Better About Yourself | stop following fitspiration accounts and start following these actually inspirational and real accounts

Dieting Sucks, Healthy Life | October 4, 2017 | By

Do yourself a favor and follow these best Instagram accounts. Turn Instagram into a safe place, full of uplifting messages and a dose of reality.

Why it matters

Instagram is such a fun and inspirational tool. Or at least it can be. Unfortunately, so much of what we see on Instagram and think of as being inspirational, actually makes many people feel badly about themselves. We can feel badly about ourselves based on what we ingest through Instagram because what we see is only the ‘highlights’, we see this unhelpful all-or-nothing mentality to health habits, or we see fitness/eating at all costs-all this talk of ‘no excuses’ makes me crazy. We see transformations that make us feel like our value and worth lie in our ability to change our bodies, we see photoshopped and highly stylized photos and think that that’s normal.

I love this post from Beauty Redefined about this phenomenon:

Emma Watson is amazing all around and so are the ladies behind the scenes at Beauty Redefined.

Where to look:

Read my most recent article for KSL for a few incredible Instagram accounts to follow. They’re full of non-diet, body positive/neutral great REAL messages for you.

and finally mine, no diet talk, just delicious recipes & a few glimpses into the realities of life. So go ahead & purge all the accounts that trigger you to not feel so good in your skin from your feed & see what happens.

Also, if you want to work through some of your own triggers, download my free body image workbook. You’re bound to learn something and get started feeling better in your skin. Promise.

Let’s get chatty:

  • What are your favorite Instagram accounts to follow
  • How to you protect yourself from sneak attacks to your self esteem?

It’s so important to be in a positive headspace. There’s way too much negativity in this world as it is.
