Win the Game Day appetizer trophy with this super easy, 30 minute, crowd pleasing Instant Pot chicken wings recipe with a tangy gingery BBQ sauce and sriracha mayo. They're great for any game day or fun hand held dinner.
¼cup Sprouts organic Asian BBQ sauceplus more for dipping
¼cupmayonnaise
1+tablespoonssrirachadepending on desired spiciness
1tablespoonsesame seedsfor garnish
Instructions
Pour 1 c water into Instant Pot bowl, then place 2 pounds chicken wings in steamer basket in Instant Pot.
Close Instant Pot lid, and set vent to sealing. Set to Manual, and cook for 10 minutes, at high pressure. It should take about 20 minutes from start to finish.
Once wings are done, turn vent to ‘venting’ and let pressure release, once steam stops, remove lid.
Just prior to serving, set oven to broil. Remove chicken wings and place on a lined baking sheet, slather wings with BBQ sauce, and broil for just 2-3 minutes.
While wings are in the oven, mix together ¼ c mayonnaise and 1+ T sriracha in a dipping bowl, and pour more BBQ sauce into another dipping bowl.
Transfer hot chicken wings from baking sheet to serving bowl, sprinkle with 1 T sesame seeds, enjoy.
Notes
Using a steamer basket makes for easy removal. it's my favorite Instant Pot tool.
Remember it takes about 2x as long to cook in the Instant Pot because it takes time to get up to pressure, and then release pressure at the end.
Mix wings & BBQ sauce in a mixing bowl for a cleaner baking sheet
You're not supposed to broil baking mats (they burn and get ruined). Mine do ok for less than 5 minutes. But use parchment paper to be safe.
