There’s nothing like a grilled hamburger or chicken burger. The grilling experience, the char, the cheese, the toasted bun, and the condiments. It’s just all good. Even if you don’t have an outdoor grill (I actually don’t) you can still enjoy this burger. Go ahead & grab your cast iron skillet or grill pan, and you’ll have a wonderfully seared piece of meat. And if you don’t already have a cast iron skillet, drop what you’re doing and go grab one. They’re amazing.
how this grilled chicken burger fits into my lifestyle
Hamburgers and grilling are just so quintessentially summery. Like SO summery. But sometimes I’m not feeling a hamburger. Sometimes I want something else, you know, like grilled chicken, a sausage that’s bursting with flavor, or a hot dog. That’s where this grilled chicken burger comes in. It’s not only stupid easy, but it’s really versatile. I like mine topped with grilled onions, lettuce, pepperjack cheese, and my favorite BBQ sauce. The chicken is delicious and juicy, but the magic lies in the toppings.
How it’ll make your life easier
I love this easy chicken burger because you can just throw it on the grill as is. No special marinade, no technique, just plain old cooking. So grab a couple chicken breasts and throw them on the grill with your onions and other meat if you want a variety.
Quick Notes on This Recipe
Cooking time will depend on the size of your chicken breasts. I found giant ones at Sprouts, and just cooked them whole, while I sliced them in 1/2 for the burger.
Here are my 2 easy ways to measure the temperature- 1. Grab a thermometer, the center of your chicken breast should be 165 degrees. 2. Slice it in half, it’s done when there’s no pink in the middle.

You can top your burgers with anything, but I love grilled onions, tomato, and lettuce. Avocado, peppers, & grilled pineapple are all great toppings.
I like to serve my burgers with french fries and cut fruits and vegetables to offer my guests a couple choices. Alexa sweet potato fries are awesome and easy to prepare.
